In honor of Addie’s birthday today, I decided to conduct her interview. Addison is 8 years old today, and she never ceases to amaze me. She is energetic, adventurous, very literal in all she says and does, and she is unfailingly sweet and kind. I used to think that Anya would be my most sensitive child, but Addie has taken that title! She cries when she is happy, sad, tired, excited, or just confused. I like to think I know how she would answer anything, but I found myself a little surprised by some of her answers. Here is her Q&A:
Food: macaroni and cheese
Color: blue (shock! I thought it was pink)
Movie: Descendents (Disney movie) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Holiday: Christmas because Santa and your family give you presents, and I like putting up the Christmas tree
Pet: Emma because she is better than Bruce (ha!)
Thing to do in Hawaii: go to the pool near our house (seriously. with all the beaches around us…)
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a veterinarian and an animal scientist so I can help study extinct or near extinct species and help keep them alive.
Who is your best friend? Caitlyn and Kennedy
Do you like being a part of a big family? yes. Everyone is funny, and someone is always farting, which is really funny.
Do you like being a military kid? Yes, because I like moving and seeing new things. I like spending time with my dad when he is home and being proud of him.
***As I said, she is a sweet kid. Her dad just found a story that she slipped in his suitcase for his trip back to Korea – a story about him coming to Hawaii and how much he would love being with us at home – and it nearly brought him to tears. She always wants to make everyone happy and to compliment people. Addison was a surprise in our lives, but I could not imagine our family without her.***
