Smashing stereotypes, one band t-shirt at a time

The clothes and hair color do not define the person as much as her voice, opinions, and intelligence.

Dad is home for 4 whole days. These two are clearly making the most of their time together. #leonard #carpfamily #saturdayafternoon #napbuddies My valentine for 17 years. Only spent 5 of them together because #militarylife 🙄, so we do not really celebrate. Regardless, I like him and choose him, even from far away. #valentinesday #husband #wewerebabies #oldaf Lots of #valentinesday and #galentinesday love via snail mail this year-these are only some of them. And if I’ve never mentioned it before (sarcasm), regular mail is one of my favorite things. Letters, postcards, birthday cards, just because things-they all make me so happy. #mail #cards #love #favoritethings We have been to @bishopmuseum so many times that I stopped counting. The annual membership pays for itself multiple times over.
Yet each visit, we act like it’s the first. We love reading and viewing Hawaiian history, and the special exhibits are always awesome. The Rapa Nui/Easter Island exhibit is educational; do you know how the island earned its name? And we love taking visitors here, too.
If you live on O’ahu or will be visiting, check out the Bishop Museum! #bishopmuseumhawaii #museum #hawaii #honolulu #history #art Visit museums. Appreciate art. Wear what makes you happy. Be silly.

I love everything about this picture and these moments. Most of all, I love being their mom and teaching them to be confident, happy, and educated girls and women. It was a perfect Saturday. #lorelei #momlife #saturdayfun #hawaii #bishopmuseumhawaii #enjoylife #sunshine How do you plan and organize? Because as a mom, wife, employee, writer, etc. it is a necessity.

I start every year with a new planner (or 3), notebooks, charts, pens, and ambition. I like to plan ahead for writing, although the plans are often changed. I like to brainstorm in a notebook and physically write things down; something about the act of writing it down and viewing it feels intentional.
In a world where everything is digital, I like to hold on to some of the physical, “old school” methods. I may have multiple calendars and planners; I may have to change things and juggle it all. My methods keep me sane though, no matter how tedious they seem. That and coffee, of course.

What do you do to stay organized? #momlife #blogger #planner #organizationiskey #butfirstcoffee #itsactuallytea
